This is the perfect elegant solution for mounting and charging in the Model Y. Set up in seconds, and never have to think about it again. The mount angle is actually tilted slightly out of plane from the screen. May want to consider getting a USB-C hub to access the higher wattage center console ports while hiding the cable — I just settled for the slower 12 V cigarette port.
Very well designed mount. The fit is great and the charging speed Is very good, even without using the 12V plug. Only negative is that the lower corner of the phone is locked by the steering wheel. Not a deal breaker though.
Could there be a more perfect fit than this? It's the best I've ever used.
I got two for my new Tesla Model Y (Juniper). It works well with the iPhone Pro 16 Max. I only wish that I have the option to place the phone on landscape mode. Otherwise, it’s still a 5 star product!!
While I did get a replacement for my initial order which was clearly a refurbished item, I did find a couple of other flaws with the design which you hopefully can improve on. The original piece of tape that came with the charger was not sufficient to keep it in place during hot days and it kept coming off on the top right corner. I had to add the second included tape to the device to assure adherence.
Additionally there is a design flaw that can affect the unit down the road. The cable is hard wired on the charger side instead of having a usb-c connector, so if anything happens to the cord or the connector on the other end, the entire unit would have to be replaced.
Lastly, the device does not charge via the included 'cigarette lighter' adapter, only works with the native Tesla usb-c charge port.
